Inheritance Tax (IHT) Calculator for adviser use only

Our IHT Calculator allows you to work out a client’s current and future potential IHT liability based on the options below.
When you’ve finished, you can also create a PDF for your client summarising their situation:

The Inheritance Tax (IHT) Calculator is designed to help financial advisers and their clients to find out the approximate IHT liability on a client’s estate, based on the information they provide. You should therefore ensure the information provided is accurate; if it is not the figures provided will be incorrect and should not be relied upon
The results produced by the tool shouldn’t be considered as advice. The information is provided purely to provide guidance.
Every care has been taken as to its accuracy, but it must be appreciated that neither Chesnara nor its representatives can accept any responsibility for loss, however caused, suffered by any person who has acted or refrained from acting as a result of material contained in this calculator.
The tax rates used in this calculator were last reviewed in April 2025.
